They say opposites attract. But what if opposites were to unite and instigate global change for the better?

In our spot for Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection, we set out to show that while climate change is complicated and intimidating, the root of the solution is quite simple — unification for a better, cleaner, more promising future.

Some People are Visual Learners

This summer, Al Gore challenged Americans to end to their addiction to fossil fuels. And he wasn't asking us to quit cold turkey, but to take the next 10 years to shift to 100% clean fuels in the name of the environment, economy and national security. To get this challenge out to the entire public (not just those who caught Gore's speech), we worked with the Alliance to create the new Switch spot. In a symbolic crusade against the evils of dirty energy, people from across the country combine their efforts and overtake the massive light switches. Our fossil fuel addiction doesn't stand a chance if WE all work as one to make the switch.

Sharpton and Robertson Hit the Beach

FDR’s famous fireside chats brought a voice of hope and change into American living rooms. Next on-air motivator: Al Gore and his Alliance for Climate Protection.

For the “Unlikely Alliances” campaign, we traded fireside and radio for oceanside and broadcast, but the intention of a mass call to action remains the same. With such openly oppositional pairings as Reverends Al Sharpton and Pat Roberston, the campaign illustrates that individuals alone aren’t going to solve the climate crisis; it takes a village. Or a planet, as the case may be.

Wonder if they followed up filming with a round of beach volleyball...

You can’t solve the climate crisis.

But together WE can.

Americans have faced a lot of challenges in our storied past, but we've tackled them with courage and grace (ok, not all of them...we've certainly fumbled our fair share). But when it comes to saving our planet from the climate crisis, we can't afford to misstep — or worse still, not step at all.

Our new work for Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection sets out to show America that we must act. Now. All creative directs people to the Alliance website, www.wecansolveit.org, where users can sign a petition to demand solutions (not just words) from elected officials. Because the climate can't change itself, and we can't afford to wait.
