Martin Elevates Tasha Dean To Its Executive Committee

“This promotion is because of who Tasha is, not the department she represents,” says Martin Agency CEO Kristen Cavallo. “As a producer, she’s honed her skill of turning ideas into reality. As a prolific accomplisher, she’s taken her skills far beyond production—building new revenue streams, ways of working and tools to make us self-sufficient.”

Since joining Martin in July of 2018 to lead the agency’s integrated production teams, Dean’s grown those departments while expanding specialty capabilities. In 2020 alone, Martin’s created work for over 90% of its clients—representing 400+ productions (triple the volume of prior years). The agency estimates 100+ more initiatives are in the pipeline between now and end of year.

The news comes on the heels of Martin Chief Growth Officer, Michael Chapman, making moves to become the CMO of CarLotz.

“The challenges we’re facing as an industry are coming at us at warp speed,” Explains EVP and Head of Production, Dean. “Approaching the changes with imagination and optimism is just more fun. Progress is necessary, and we’ve embraced the full potential of this creative playground.”

A part of that “creative playground” is SuperJoy, a 360 creative studio and content hub Dean helped found in Dec. 2019 that’s doubled in size.

In 2020, Martin invested $1.5M in CapEx funds to build out a 20,000-square-foot home for SuperJoy to upend traditional processes with the latest commercial technologies and tools for experimenting with new media and formats. Clients are seeing these Richmond-based capabilities as advantageous to LA and NY—markets offering less control and access to directors, editors and animators in real time.

“Tasha’s a human springboard,” adds Cavallo. “She never backs down and always finds a way—and you can’t help but want to do the unimaginable with her. That’s why she’ll continue to be an even larger part of Martin’s growth strategy.”

Prior to joining Martin, Dean spent five years running digital operations for TBWA/Chiat/Day New York. Her client roster over the years includes global brand such as: Nissan, Visa, Apple, Gatorade, McDonald’s, Michelin, Kraft, Johnson & Johnson, H&M, Travelers and Accenture. She has also received accolades from Cannes Lions, One Show, Webbys, Clios, ADDYs and London International Awards.
