Matt Mattox Named New GEICO Account Lead

The Martin Agency Names New Account Lead on Geico

The Martin Agency has a new account lead for its largest client.

The agency promoted Matt Mattox to senior vice president, group account director on Geico, effective immediately. Mattox fills the role previously held by Ben Creasey, who left the agency last month to join Amazon Music at the same time that executive vice president, managing director Chris Shumaker departed his role.

“Behind every creative campaign is a strategic foundation that gets people talking,” Geico senior director, marketing Amy Furman said in a statement. “Matt is relentlessly curious and wired to challenge conventional thinking – a hallmark of Geico’s philosophy.”

Mattox formerly served as senior vice president, group planning director, a role he has held for over two and a half years. An agency veteran of over a decade, Mattox held roles as senior strategic planner and planning director before being promoted to group planning director in 2012.
